I find BlueRider's letter and mentality shocking!

In this day and age to use the disadvantages of having a kampung background as an excuse to claim special and preferential treatment is outright disgusting. To further encourage this line of thinking in any environment is incorrigible!

Hunger, failure, tolerance for pain, economic downturn, bad luck, etc does not discriminate between bumiputeras and non-bumiputeras! So why the special allowances and intensive care for one race over the other? This kind of special attention weakens the DNA of the race?

Some of the most successful people have come from backgrounds of constant turmoil and pain. Be it the Jews who control the global media and finance industry or the Sri Lankan Tamils who are some of the best entrepreneurs.

The same can be said about the overseas Chinese whose tolerance for pain and postponement of enjoyment in a single minded pursuit of success is legendary. Society accorded these individuals no special favours, yet they have flourished!

Be it George Soros, Steven Spielberg, Ananda Krishnan, Robert Kuok or Lim Goh Tong of Genting, a common thread is the self denial and tolerance for pain. Blue Rider needs to understand that the only reason there are more rich non-Malays is because they are working their soles off.

Blue Rider also needs to compare apples and apples? How can one debate special rights versus vernacular education? It is almost like saying no more special rights for one race but the others must give up their mother tongue and refrain from wearing saris or cheong sams, duh?

It is like saying please work your life off and establish a successful set up, then give us our bumi allocation due to our special rights. Otherwise no peace, social contract in jeopardy, etc etc...

The key words are compete, work, learn, adjust, not special rights! Survival of the fittest! Only disadvantaged folks need special attention and rights. So Blue Rider stop riding around and do some work like the rest of your Malaysian brothers and sisters.

This letter does however salute the rest of the Malay community that does not find the time to talk about special rights because they are busy competing and enriching themselves and society in the process.
