Awang Adek and Mustapha Mohammad are Kelantanese but they are out of touch with Kelantanese culture and religious heritage. Both the minister and deputy minister in Pak Lah's cabinet have failed to understand that Kelantan democracy is not for sale .

Kelantan people have already endured 14 years of oppression by the BN regime which imposed domestic economic sanctions after the PAS administration took over. BN has been cruel to Kelantanese and now they are trying to deceive the general public on their sweet offer.

Awang Adek has failed to recognise the PAS political culture and their diehard loyalty to the people who elected them. PAS candidates are not appointed on the basis of how much they spent to secure their candidacies but on their uncompromising performance and party loyalty.

Although PAS had suffered a tremendous setback in the recent general election, a majority of the Kelantanese voters are still wondering how their beloved political party lost 21 seats to BN.

The conspiracy and the misinformation of the mainstream media has already tested the patience of Kelantan people and the PAS leadership. They did not act irrationally upon the announcement of the controversial election results.

After a misleading announcement by TV3, Umno supporters rallied around the city and tried to break into Kota Darul Naim state administration office to claim the 'winner's trophy'. PAS leaders were very mature in the crisis, asking supporters to calmly accept whatever outcome in the spirit of democracy.

While the government-controlled Election Commission was punishing the PAS leadership by purposely delaying announcement of polls winners in the state, the PAS leadership spent their time in prayers.

March 21 in Kota Bharu revealed the degree of tolerance of the moderate Islamic PAS leadership compared to the bad image created by the BN-controlled broadcast media. That day also highlighted the role of peace-loving Muslims who embrace PAS as their political party.

The hardship of economic sanctions by the BN had made Kelantanese emerge stronger and more united. It's time for BN to stop oppressing Kelantan and to accept the decision of Kelantanese that democracy is not for sale in Kelantan.
