The Council of Churches of Malaysia (CCM) extends their condolences to the former Kelantan menteri besar Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat’s family following his untimely death.

The heads of churches remembers the special time when a courtesy call was made to the late Nik Aziz’s office in 2010, to get acquainted with him and to seek his assurance that he will take care of the needs of Christians in Kelantan.

He assured the heads of just and fair treatment and shared about the many things he had done for minority faith communities in his state.

We pray the rich and spiritual legacy he has left in regard to his person and his leadership, would remain as an inspiration to other political leaders to emulate.

Malaysians have lost a person who was an exemplary leader.
