I am surprised that Arbibi Ashoy should feel shy about stating in unequivocal terms what Islam has to say about the fate of non-believers in the after life.

Arbibi should hold fast to his religious beliefs and state clearly: 'Yes. This and this is what Islam has to say about the chances of non-believers - those not of the Judeo-Christian-Islamic faiths - entering into heaven'.

Or, he should engage the non-Muslims with more common and universally acceptable arguments that can be followed by one and all. His stand so far in his discourses about who goes to heaven is neither 'here nor there'.

His last letter, Not all communists go to heaven is such a wishy-washy, nether world double talk, that it appears almost apologetic.

I think malaysiakini should re-evaluate its editorial policy to allow letters only from writers who are prepared to be accountable for what they state in their letters.

Otherwise anyone can come in and insinuate anything they want and later fold their hands and look up at the ceiling when asked to explain what they had implied earlier.

I am also surprised by the bold assertions of Mohammad in Fires of hell for unbelievers , complete with narrations from the Holy Quran, saying that only believers would go to heaven.

Please pardon my ignorance, but if my understanding of history is correct, the Quran was handed to the Prophet Muhammed by the Almighty. Now, that is only a mere 1,420-odd years ago, I think.

Then what about all those who came before Prophet Muhammed's time? How would they have known that the Almighty would only admit 'believers' into heaven? Would all of them have gone to Hell then?
