I was browsing through the shelves of a video shop recently and found dozens of copies of the VCD The Passion of the Christ on display. Anyone could buy them and they were not the illegal types but genuine copies, all certified.

This is contrary with the restriction imposed on non-Christians who are barred from viewing the movie in our theatres.

I am much amused by the whole situation because it goes to show that we are still bogged down by a mentality that does not commensurate with our quest to be a developed nation.

I have a feeling that many people are laughing at our antics and stupidity although we boast to the whole world about our Multimedia Super Corridor, Twin Towers, etc.

When will we ever learn that the world is changing and does not revolve around Malaysia alone?
