Parti Amanah Negara strongly condemns the brutal bomb attack in Pakistan that killed many innocent civilians. The recent attack seemed to target the Christian minority community during Easter gathering. Some Muslims were also killed.

If previous attacks in Paris and Brussels targeted local majorities, the new trend of going after minorities is a deeply worrying trend. As we know, minorities are more vulnerable to attacks and not in a favourable position to defend themselves.

Islam urges the government-of-the-day to protect the weak especially the minority groups. As such, Amanah is of the opinion that this attack is a specially deplorable act.

Muslim governments especially should take the lead and show a good example of protecting the weak minorities under the Muslim rulers. Amanah stands by the victims and the oppressed, especially if they are the minority.

This is reflected in Amanah’s concept of ‘Rahmatan LilAlamin’ - Rahmat untuk semua - love and care for all.
