This poem is in response to the letter ‘Malaysian Medical Council should make a stand’ and it is dedicated to all those who have been standing up for the General Practitioners in the country all this while.

I am a GP,
I will be a GP,
I must be a GP,
That’s me

What else can I do?
Be an ‘Ah Long’ or dobi?
I don’t know?
Because I am a GP .

MMC & MOH are my guardians,
Big brothers watching ,
They instruct, I move ,
They push, I fall,
What can I do?
Because I am a GP.

PHFSA chained me,
Next to slavery,
Begging for everything,
Leaving nothing,
Standing on the street,
My big brothers laughing,
What can I say?
Because I m a GP.

Industrialist strengthening,
MCO and TPA growing,
AFPM sidelining,
We have become puppets,
Hanging on a single string,
Entire life is a swing,
What should I do?
Because I m a GP

Weather can change,
Storms can come,
Swords piercing my heart,
Yet, I won’t surrender,
What else I can do?
Because I am a GP

I can’t change myself.
This is the real me.
I am a GP.
