We had been entertained, insulted and put in a state of distressful humiliation by the latest imbroglio staged by our politicians over the current issue of the issuance of APs by the recalcitrant lady cabinet minister. It has involved the cabinet as well as the Dewan Rakyat with the players appearing to be come from both the government and the opposition.

They appeared to be enjoying themselves as their intellects were insulted, as they were out-talked, outmaneuvered, and outwitted. It looks as though they are a group of masochists.

As a Malaysian, I cannot but feel very annoyed and shameful about how the whole issue has been allowed to continue on its present protected course. What is Pak Lah trying to prove? One cannot but be forced to hold the opinion that the government is meek, unprincipled and helplessly weak.

This sort of opera will only help to destroy any respect and confidence we have in the ability of the government to manage and defend the country effectively. One thing I am sure is that this would never have happened under Dr Mahathir Mohamad's leadership.

My verdict on this is simple: one of them - either Rafidah or the government - must be removed immediately. Otherwise the people of Malaysia should lodge a petition with the King for the government to be dissolved and a fresh general election be called as soon as possible.

Yes, Rafidah or the rest must go to uphold the integrity and dignity of the nation.
