How can the Election Commission claim to be non-biased in a clear case of vote-buying by the ruling elite, Barisan Nasional. That Najib has announced a RM3.7 million allocation for Felda settlers in Machap this week when a by-election is to be held is plain bribery!

Why was there no offer to contribute for the community hall and the Felda settlers last year?

The EC's failure to censure and call off the Machap be-election as a result of this disturbing news is a slap in the face of democracy. The EC head should step down as he is clearly a stooge for the ruling elite.

He does not attempt to even disguise the EC as fair and does not hide the fact that these kind of offers by the deputy prime minister are sheer bribery. The Election Commission has lost all credibility and if no changes are made soon, our country will further degenerate in the eyes of the world as a farce democracy holding elections that are not free and fair.

EC head Abdul Rashid Rahman should step down immediately before causing further damage to the future of our nation and shaming past Merdeka leaders who had fought hard for Malaysia's independence.

The people of Machap should denounce this kind of election trickery and show to all that they are proud Malaysians who cannot be bought.
