Sacrificial son was Isaac, not Joseph

I enjoyed reading EW's letter ('The good son', April 28). However, to answer his queries, the truth will be hard to determine. Malaysian politics, controlled by a small elite group as it is, will always be a mystery to outsiders.
However, I must set the writer straight on the name of the sacrificial son. God called Abraham to sacrifice his (then) only son, Isaac. Joseph came somewhat later and he was never sacrificed. He was sold into slavery by his brothers.
The connection between sacrifice and slavery vis a vis Dr Mahathir Mohamad could be a good topic for discussion at a future date.
