At least ten more members of Kedah PKR state assembly and parliamentary members will be leaving the party soon, claimed former PKR state assembly person for Lunas Mohd Radzhi Salleh.
Radzhi, a former Kedah state exco-turned Independent since he
left PKR
in late August last year, said he was optimistic of the defections occurring given recent developments in the Pakatan Rakyat component party.
He also cited what he described was the tendency of its top leaders to think more of their own interests than that of the party’s members, supporters and the public at large.
Speaking to reporters after speaking at a ceramah in Kulim Bandar Baharu today, Bernama reported Radzhi as saying he would be joining Umno soon.
Addressing claims that he had been bought over by Umno, Radzhi denied the allegation and said that money is not the reason behind his defection from PKR.
He also urged opposition figures in Kedah to cease the state-wide Pakatan Rakyat Kedah Budget 2010 program, which he said was an attempt to pull the wool over the people’s eyes with rhetoric and impossible dreams.
At the same event with Radzhi was Umno Supreme Council member Abdul Aziz Sheikh Fadzir, who thanked those state assembly members and MPs who had declared themselves as Independents.
Abdul Aziz said the platform that Umno provided was more effective for those who seek to serve the people.
