His press secretary Ainon Mohd however said that the deputy prime minister was discharged yesterday after spending two days at the hospital and will resume his duties next week.
"He was taking a rest at the hospital from Thursday," she said in a statement here today.
Muhyiddin had spent almost two weeks helping the BN in the grueling electoral campaigning for the Hulu Selangor by-election.
It is learnt that he has cancelled his trip to United States to attend the 2010 Bio International Conference in Chicago next week.
