Taiwan nabs five Msians over alleged drug smuggling
Taiwan arrested five Malaysians on Tuesday for allegedly smuggling 2.5 million dollars' worth of drugs to the island in one of the largest busts this year, police said.
The suspects were caught in two pre-dawn raids in Taipei while police confiscated 125 kilograms (275 pounds) of the club drug ketamine, worth about 80 million Taiwan dollars (2.5 million US), according to police.

The demand for ketamine has been on the rise, with a growing number of drug abuse cases involving teenagers, according to police and education officials.
Manufacturing, transporting and selling cocaine is punishable by death or life imprisonment in Taiwan while offences involving lesser drugs such as ketamine carry a minimum five-year prison term.
