your say 'It's not Anwar who fails in this sordid case, but our entire judicial system which has failed.'

Sodomy II: Anwar loses final appeal

Md Imraz Ikhbal: This decision has more to do with integrity than competency of the judges. The best outcome we can all hope for is a two-versus-one judgment, but still not in Anwar Ibrahim's favour.

Ubi Wan Kenobi: It's not Anwar who fails in this sordid case, but our entire judicial system, contaminated as it is by 22 years of Mahathirism, which has failed.

Mamboking: Imagine this: A girl said she was not raped, she is still a virgin and the doctors confirmed it. But the deputy public prosecutor and the judge say she was raped.

In this case, three doctors have said that there was no sign of penetration, meaning that Anwar did not have anal sex. So, just like Sodomy I, there were no signs of anal sex. But yet, evidence shows that he did have anal sex?

That's the Malaysian justice system for you. When they want to get you, they will get you. The executive hand is everywhere.

Yobama: In Malaysia, anything is possible. After all, this is Bolehland . Evidence can be 'manufactured' that can defy the physical evidence as reported by doctors.

The manufacturer's evidence can therefore overrule the doctors' evidence. The doctors' examination is not powerful enough - perhaps they used microscopes that were weaker than the ones used by the state?

The doctors, then, need to go back to medical school to learn a few new tricks not taught to them before. But they'd have to go to Lincoln's Inn for this.

Sarajun Hoda: In India yesterday, a group of people played flute in front of buffaloes. It is time somebody bring a dozen buffaloes or cows to the court complex and get some people to play flute before them.

This is to send the message to Malaysian judges. If they don't judge properly, they are equal to buffaloes, not more.

Multi Racial: If you poll Malaysians the day before the decision, you will get a result of almost 100 percent saying the judges will reject Anwar's appeal. Don't get me wrong. It was not because the public agreed with the court but more so the perception of our judiciary system, which is at new low.

This is really embarrassing for Malaysia. I can accept judgment either way if the judges can provide details to support their decisions. But in this and most of the high-profile cases, after many months of hearing, what we get are simple two sentence decisions usually in favour of what BN wants.

How is this going to improve public perception of the judiciary? Why can't the judges be more prepared to provide details to support their decision? Just imagine, if this is happening to the high-profile cases and at the higher and top courts, what about those in lower courts involving junior judges?

Semen present in anal swabs, court told

Eugene: No wonder BN vehemently want to enact the DNA bill . They need samples from Anwar so the semen can be planted. It looks like they can't wait and now they need to plant some unknown "semen". What a joke.

Ferdtan: In Sodomy I, it was reported widely in the news that Anwar disguised with a wig was seen with some prostitutes. Then what happened after that? Nothing. The evidence was not even brought up in the trial but the damage had been done. He was shamed needlessly in public with purported false evidence.

Looks like a case of 'tembak dulu' (shoot first) - whether it's true or not is immaterial. So people, do you still believe with the new evidence?

Kgen: DNA evidence can easily be faked. Do they expect us to believe it when all the machinery of law enforcement are under the control of BN?

Professor: This was expected. Anyway, they still have Anwar's sperm from 12 years ago. So perhaps lawyers must confirm the age of the sperm. Can they determine it?

Wira: If you take the sperm of Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, sprinkle that with the DNA of Anwar and place that in the anus of Saiful, you'll find sperm with two DNAs. Saiful's DNA will be regarded as a contaminant (as it is from his body), and gullible idiots will immediately come to the conclusion that the sperm must be from Anwar.

Cala: First, why was Solicitor-General II Mohd Yusof Zainal Abiden quoting a 1983 book 'Medicine for Lawyers' on the topic of homosexual offences? Could not he find one in newer editions?

Second, surely someone has written elsewhere that planting of 'false evidence' is possible, especially in politically-motivated cases. Where are these books which the 'accused' should take refuge?

Perak Boleh: Get Anwar at all costs. The judges must turn a deaf ear and a blind eye on whatever logical argument the defence said or present in our court.
