Perak PAS has filed a report to the MACC over a newspaper's claim that Perak MB Zambry Abdul Kadir promised a total of RM1.2 million to MCA divisions in his state.

The Malay daily Sinar Harian on May 4 carried a report that alleged Zambry had promised an allocation of RM50,000 to each of the 24  MCA state divisions.

khalil idham lim Today at 2pm, PAS Titi Seorang assemblyperson Khalil Idham Lim Abdullah ( left ) passed a corruption information report and a paper cutting of the newspaper article to the state MACC for further action.

Khalil clarified that he was just passing information to the MACC and was not lodging an official report.

He said Zambry should not use public funds to donate to political parties which is wrong in principle.

"I am questioning this donation- where did the money come from and from which approved budget?" he asked.

"Was it approved by the `Bajet Mee Segara' which was approved in 20 minutes last year?" he asked sarcastically.

However, as yet, no disbursements have been made.

Khalil was also accompanied by PAS Lubok Merbau assemblyperson Mohd Zainudin Mohd Yusof. DAP Jalong assemblyperson Leong Mee Meng and PAS state assistant secretary 2 Safarizat Salleh to the MACC office.

When told that Zambry might have promised the allocation in his capacity as state BN chief, Khalil said the Sinar Harian report clearly stated that the money was from the state government.

"Let us wait for his reply on the matter!" said the PAS leader.
