Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim denied claims that he leaked out documents alleging corruption in the sand scandal to the company implicated.

NONE Instead, he said that the documents can be obtained by the affected parties through the police, as a police report had been lodged against them.

Kapar MP S Manikavasagam, who spearheaded the claims, had told a news portal that Khalid had leaked out documents that he had given to the MB, documenting his claims that there is graft involved among senior officials in the state government-owned sand and minerals mining company.

To that, Khalid ( above) assured that the documents, given to him last week, would not be given to those not involved.

"The papers that were given to me, were passed on to (his political secretary) Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, to be handed over to the Selangor Select Committee on Competency, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat).

"Selcat will then pour through the documents before deciding on a public hearing," said Khalid after meeting a delegation of Indonesian investors in Shah Alam this afternoon.

He also revealed that he advised Manikavasagam to be very sure when making such allegations or face legal action by those he have accused.

Meanwhile, he also said that the incident where Manikavasagam's wife's car was splashed with red paint , is a criminal act, which should not be ignored.

"The police should act on it, and I have also personally called (state police chief Khalid Abu Bakar) to look into the matter," he said, adding that Manikavasagam has also lodged a police report.

In the Sunday morning incident, Manikavasagam woke up to find his car, as well as his wife's, splashed with red paint. A note threatening the MP not to raise the sand issue was also found.

Manikavasagam has previously been at a war of words with Khalid over the alleged scandal.

While Khalid has asked for Selcat to investigate the matter, Manikavasagam, also known as "Mike", had repeatedly thumbed his nose to the idea, saying that he does not trust Selcat.
