Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein will be meeting the Kelantan Sultanah later today over her complaints of being roughed up by the police.

Hishammuddin is scheduled to be at the Istana Makhota in Kota Bharu at 8pm tonight to seek an audience with Sultan Ismail Yahya Petra’s consort, Tengku Anis Tengku Abdul Hamid.

NONE Tengku Anis had said earlier this month that the police had "pulled her like a cow " when they stopped the royal convoy on May 4 containing the Kelantan ruler, Tengku Anis and their youngest son Tengku Fakhry Petra en route to the airport in Pengkalan Chepa.

They were on the way to the airport where they were to board a chartered flight to the Mount Elizabeth hospital for Tuanku Ismail’s follow-up treatment for a stroke he had suffered last year.

Instead, they were rerouted to Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM), where she claimed that she was holed up and “sleeping on the floor” outside the royal ward to evade police arrest.

She told the Malay Mail that she feared being arrested by the police if she left the hospital.

NONE Tengku Fakhry, meanwhile, was detained by the police for four hours for reasons, he claimed, were unknown.

The Sultan's eldest sister Tengku Merjan Yahya Petra, has also called for Hishammuddin to investigate and explain Tengku Anis’ claims.

The ruler has since been brought back to Istana Mahkota after his treatment at HUSM.

It was previously reported that the state deputy police chief Amir Hamzah Ibrahim has refuted Tengku Anis' claims.

He said he stood by his previous statement that the police had not roughed up any member of the Kelantan royalty.
