Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim will encourage anyone to make a police report to protect the state's property or fight abuse of power.

NONE As such, he called on all quarters to let the police probe into such a report, including allegations that his brother, Hajiman, was involved in the red paint attack on the house and vehicles belonging to Kapar member of parliament S Manikavasagam in Meru last Sunday.

Manikavasagam also received a death threat during the incident after he lodged a police report on graft allegations against some senior officials of the state government-owned sand mining company, Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd.

"It's okay. Go ahead (lodge the report) because the police have the power and capability to investigate," said Abdul Khalid when asked to comment on another report lodged today at the Klang police headquarters by PKR member Azmi Muhammad.

Azmi, a former PKR coordinator in Ijok, lodged the report at 12.05pm, pertaining to Abdul Khalid's statement after the red paint incident on Sunday.

Azmi said the statement, aired on TV3's prime-time news 'Buletin Utama' on Sunday night, sounded like a threat when Abdul Khalid said Manikavasagam should be brave and prepared to face reactions from those whose names were exposed.

Hence, he said, the report was lodged to enable the police to investigate whether there was a possibility that the statement was made by Abdul Khalid to protect Hajiman, besides alleging that the latter was involved in the red paint attack.
