Sarawak Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud called on the people not to take seriously the DAP's allegation that the Barisan Nasional is a party that practises corruption because it is a lie.

"If you believe what the DAP says, the world can turn upside down," he told reporters after opening Medan Hamidah in Demak Jaya, Jalan Bako, Kuching.

Taib, who celebrates his 74th birthday today, said that democracy would continue to run smoothly in the country under the Barisan Nasional.

He said he wanted the people to remain united and make Sarawak a model for the multiracial society in the country.
