PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim is still keeping the public in suspense over his claims that Umno had tried to entice defectors with RM2 million and lucrative government contracts.

NONE “I am waiting for Umno to respond, I am waiting for them say I am lying,” said Anwar ( centre in photo ), at the a ceramah at Padang Perdana in Kota Bharu, Kelantan last night.

In his 40-minute speech, Anwar urged - in Kelantanese dialect - the crowd of 10,000 to “Ok semeta (be patient)” and wait for the opportune moment to present itself.

Like the night before, Anwar insisted that he has proof that certain PKR elected representatives that declared themselves as independents were lured by Umno agents.

“I want to wait for them to deny it and then I will reveal it like a three-part act in a Hindi movie,” he said, drawing laughter from the crowd.

Pressing his attack further, Anwar trained his sights on the federal government’s decision to issue a sports betting licence to Ascot Sports, owned by politically connected tycoon Vincent Tan.

Pointing to Penang, led by DAP’s Lim Guan Eng, Anwar said Pakatan Rakyat’s policies were morally upright, unlike Umno’s who are led by Muslim leaders.

“Here is a non-Muslim (chief minister) banning what we (Muslims) consider haram (illegal). However, the Muslim prime minister and Muslim ministers have legalised it,” stressed Anwar.

Moon and rocket

Also present during the ceramah were Lim, Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim and Kelantan Menteri Besar Nik Aziz Nik Mat.

NONE Lim and Khalid took pains to explain how Pakatan had brought reforms to the states of Penang and Selangor.

Nik Aziz, the biggest crowd puller in Kelantan, was unable to speak due to health reasons and his replacement Husam Musa stressed that cooperation between Pakatan allies were paramount.

“The moon (symbol of Pas) represent high idealism and the only way to get to moon is if we board a rocket (symbol of DAP),” said Husam, who is a state executive councillor.
