The fracas at Sabak Bernam Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) divisional meeting yesterday is a good lession for the party in managing elections.
Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said members should be matured to accept election results as they were decided via the ballot box.
"Campaigning must also be done properly and running down your opponents is not the way.
"Candidates should find ways to improve the party to gain the people's confidence," he told reporters in Kuala Selangor today.
Khalid declined to say more as the fracas at Sabak Bernam should be handled by the party's election committee.
He hopes that the supreme council elections to be decided by some 400,000 members on Oct 10 would proceed smoothly. Selangor has about 100,000 members.
"This means that about 25 percent of the votes will come from Selangor. We expect Selangor to witness some tough campaigning," he said.
Khalid who is defending Kuala Selangor division chief post is expected to be challenged by former youth chief Mazli Saring, former wanita chief Fauziah Sulaiman and former teacher Muhammad Kamil Vaanan Abdullah.
