The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) considers Malim Nawar assemblyperson Keshvinder Singh’s move to join a Barisan Nasional (BN) component party as a sign of the public’s acceptance towards the party’s struggles.

Its chairman, Nik Sapeia Nik Yusof, welcomed the move and said the independent candidate would be able to provide strength to the party by voicing the rights of members directly to the state assembly.

NONE “I thank Keshvinder ( right ) for announcing his wish to join us, and we welcome him into the party for a stronger PPP,” he told Bernama on the state assemblyman’s decision to join the PPP in Kuala Krai today.

Nik Sapeia, who is also Kelantan PPP chairman, admitted he invited the Independent assemblyperson to join the PPP after seeing his objective in championing the people’s welfare regardless of race or religion.

He said Keshvinder could help the party continue their struggles to help the poor using his post as an elected representative.

Yesterday Keshvinder announced that he would be joining the PPP after being invited by Nik Sapeia, who met him at an Aidilfitri open house organised by Yayasan Bina Upaya (YBU) dan Institut Darul Ridzuan in Ipoh.
