The DAP wants to know how the BN government is going to settle the RM400 billion national debt as disclosed in the proposed 2011 national budget yesterday.

Party national assistant treasurer Nga Kor Ming said: "Although yesterday's national budget amounting to RM218.9 billion is the highest in history, there is no detailed plan as to how the government is going to settle this mounting national debt.

"It is note worthy that this is the 15th consecutive year of a deficit budget since 1996," the party's state secretary.

NONE "Out of the total allocation, 76.2 percent has been set aside for operating expenses, only 23.8 percent is for development purpose, " Nga ( right ) said in a media statement.

He claimed that the national car protection policy continues to make Malaysia the country with one of the most highly priced cars in the world.

On top of that the government is discouraging Malaysians from owning cars by imposing a financial burden of 60 percent to 105 percent in excise duty.

He said their pockets will be squeezed further with the service tax pushed up from 5 percent to 6 percent.
