Lembah Pantai Member of Parliament Nurul Izzah Anwar today confirmed that she will be contesting the vice-president post at PKR polls next month.
She explained that she had turned down nominations to go for the deputy president post and opted to go for the third highest post in the party following certain factors that limited her from challenging the number two post.
"In my thinking, no matter what post we are contesting, the most important thing is loyalty and sincerity to the party's struggle," she told reporters at PKR's headquarters.
Nurul Izzah, who is also the daughter of PKR advisor and Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim, is among 17 candidates who have confirmed going for the vice-president post, of which four seats are available.
