Kedah Umno Youth chief Badrolhisham Hashim today expressed shock and disappointment over the demands made by some individuals, who call themselves the Save Kedah Action Committee, for him to resign from the post.
Badrolhisham said he had always been open to criticism, but this time, he would not keep silent as the demands made by the group felt like it was coming from the opposition.
"I really hope that these individuals will not try to destroy what we have today. We don't want the party to be in trouble just because of people like them," he told reporters at the Kedah Umno headquarters in Alor Setar.
He also said that he would bring the matter up with Umno's management so that suitable action could be taken.
On Thursday, the committee, led by its chairman, Sobri Sudin, handed over a memorandum to Kedah Umno Youth secretary Tahir Md Zain, demanding Badrolhisham resign as Kedah Umno Youth chief.
They claimed that Badrolhisham had failed to lead the Kedah youth movement effectively.
