Muhyiddin: Umno is race-based but not racist

Tkc: Race-based or racist - there is really no difference because it is just a matter of semantics. Umno, MCA and MIC are based on race so by definition can be considered racist parties. These three main component parties of BN are most guilty when it comes to racial poisoning of the minds of fellow Malaysians over the last 40 years.

Anonymous: All the racial issues are created by Umno, if Umno is not racist, who is? Just recall all the speeches Umno leaders had made. Please, Muhyiddin Yassin, check the records over the past 53 years. Who raised the keris? Who declared the keris would be soaked with Chinese blood? Who allowed Utusan Malaysia to fan racial issues?

Who tolerated Perkasa and put Hindraf leaders in jail? Who paraded with cow's heads? Who created all the unfair policies? Who declared Ketuanan Melayu? Who used racial issues to remain in power and siphon off billions of taxpayers' money for the own cronies? Yet the Malays masses still remain poor after all the NEP (New Economic Policy).

How else do you describe the light tap on the knuckles for the two headmasters who made racial vilifications, the home minister's defence of the cow-head protestors, political harassment of DAP MP Teo Nie Ching for speaking at a mosque, or the continuing alliance with Perkasa, among Umno's many indiscretions?

Singa Pura Pura: "The race-based politics practised by Umno is not a form of racial or racist party. Racist politics means that we only prioritise the interest of our own race and then condemn the needs of other races."

And that is precisely what Umno has not been doing for the last half of a century?

"Umno has never monopolised political power and the economic opportunities for the Malays only. The party leaders realise that sharing the political power and economic opportunities with other races are the best way to create unity and stability in a multicultural nation."

And that is why non-Umnorians, like the Chinese and Indians, and the other non-Umnorian-bumiputeras, are not allowed not only to become prime minister but also deputy prime minister, finance minister, education minister, home minister and foreign minister?

You eat the bread and give away the crumbs, and you call that sharing?

Goh Swee Soon: Race-based and not a racialist party? Tell that to the marines. We heard that so many times from these crooks, who are struggling to save their own necks.

Rolls-Royce: I have to agree with you one thing though, DPM - Umno has never monopolised political power and the economic opportunities for the Malays.

Umno only monopolised political power and economic opportunities for the Umnoputra and the well-connected cronies, both bumi and non-bumi. Such monopolies have led to incompetency, inefficiency, corruption and wastage that we see plenty.

Dood: Surely Muhyiddin doesn't think he can fool us by saying such things and yet on the other hand do something else? Umno/BN is racist and that's that.

Yvoon: Why the need for scorecards? Every party election, the members will get to decide whether any leader has passed the exam or not. And if the party doesn't perform, the general election will decide on the party's scorecards. If members are caring and concerned, they will throw out self-serving leaders so that in a GE, the party is not thrown out by the voters.

Jimmy Ng: Cakap tak serupa bikin, bikin tak serupa cakap. Sudah lah, Muhyiddin, jangan kau cuba nak bohong dan tipu rakyat dan fikir kami ini semua bodoh dan bangau. "We fight for the rights of Malays but we are not racist"? Lojik jenis apa ni?

Kunta Kinte: The rights of the Malays is protected under the constitution, said the DPM. And he also said Umno is not racist. The point is, Umno is not fighting for the Malays but fighting for Umnoputras. That's the problem, Mr DPM, and don't tell us that you don't know that.

Hopium: Your forked tongue spits more brimstone fire then the dragon in Harry Porter's story.

I prefer to believe that the Hogwarts School exists, than to believe the ‘no racism' tone in your speech. You may have succeeded in putting confundo on some people, but not all will be muggles! Ophidian DPM and his hatchlings are more venomous than real ones.

Umno AGM: Will 1Malaysia or race rhetoric prevail?

Anonymous: What else can these Umnoputras and Umnoputeris debate other than Malay rights, Malay special position, Islam as the official religion, sultans as Islamic head, Bahasa Melayu as the national language, ‘saya pantang dicabar' and so on and so forth.

The funny thing is that these are already spelled out black and white in the constituition, yet year in, year out (in fact, should be day in, day out) they talk about the same thing. You just see.

Croniq: Just a little while ago at lunchtime, I shared a table with an 84-year-old Chinese gentleman. He advised me not to eat ‘char koay teow' too often as it was ‘heaty'. Then he went on talking about how Malaysia had changed since he was a kid.

He had some interesting questions about 1Malaysia. First, he asked me if I knew what 1Malaysia was all about. I told him that I had no idea. He said, neither did he. He said he was confused. He understood 1Malaysia means equality for all races but from what he observes, it was not so.

He went on to say that he was fed up of these lies by the government and hoped that the next general election will be won by the opposition. He said the opposition headed by Anwar Ibrahim should be given a chance to prove themselves. If after five years of rule by the new government, we could always revert to BN if we were unhappy with them.

He then advised me not to smoke when I lent him my lighter.

DOC: In addition to the 1Umno, 1Malaysia, 1BN logos, how about having a 1Keris which can be proudly unsheathed at the Umno AGM?
