Polling for Sabah PKR divisions scheduled to begin on Oct 30 has been postponed for a week in view of the upcoming Batu Sapi by-election.

The party political bureau which met last night resolved that the new polling date will be set for for two days beginning Nov 6.

“This is to ensure that all party leaders, members and machinery in Sabah would be able to focus on the Batu Sapi by-election,” said PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution.

The by-election is slated for Nov 4 and is likely to see both PKR and Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) fielding candidates against the incumbent BN, represented by Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS).

This clashes with PKR’s elections for its central leadership beginning later this month.
