The BN seems intent on gaining the sympathy from Batu Sapi’s voters, as their candidate Linda Tsen Thau Lin appealed for support to help her continue the work of her late husband, Edmund Chong Ket Wah.

The 54-year-old professional pianist, clearly still grieving from her husband’s sudden death barely two weeks ago, was still unsure of how to handle the media, answering only a couple of questions before quickly moving away.

“I hope so. I hope they will... yes,” she said.

Tsen, who had been low-key before she was announced as BN’s Batu Sapi candidate yesterday, has been surrounded by PBS officials wherever she went over the past two days, in an apparent move to shield her from getting door-stopped by reporters.

The officials were also seen giving her cues and instructions on what to say and which questions to answer.

At the closed-door BN election machinery meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin at Sabah Hotel this evening, he was overheard giving Tsen pointers on how to handle the media, apparently telling her not to say too much and to shake as many hands as possible.
