Guan Eng, who visited Chong Eu today, said he was told this by doctors treating the former chief minister.
“The doctors told me that he needed to undergo further treatment but his condition had improved,” he told reporters when met at the hospital.
Chong Eu, 91, was admitted to the hospital after suffering a stroke on Monday.
Also visiting him today were Singapore’s Foreign Minister George Yeo and former transport minister Ong Tee Keat.
