Ansari takes another plunge into the sea

SayaAnakBangsaMalaysia: On the surface, this may seem comical but it is really a reflection of how badly run-down Sabah's infrastructure has become after decades of misrule. The overall level and quality of basic infrastructure throughout the state is probably the lowest in Malaysia - in a state which should have been one of the wealthiest.

KayKay: Most jetties and bridges in the rural areas of Sabah and Sarawak are rickety affairs. Still, no one ends up in the water. That's because people know how to use them. Rural people are generally slightly built, shorter and smaller. They use a bridge in single-file at a distance from each other. Likewise, not too many of them will get on to a jetty all at one time.

Ansari Abdullah, Hassnar Ebrahim and one other guy who fell into the water when their jetty collapsed are all very heavily built. Imagine all three of them along with others standing on the jetty at the same time? The same thing happened with the bridge.

Khalid Ibrahim is also heavily built. By the time Khalid crossed, the bridge collapsed and he just managed to hang onto the house. Ansari ended up in the water. As Yong Teck Lee advised Ansari the other day: "Mesti pandai-pandai" (about using jetties and bridges in rural areas).

Sarawakian: Ansari should take advantage of the two incidents and promise the villagers that PKR will fight for them to have a new bridge if elected. I wouldn't put it as a bad omen. In all probability, this will give him many sympathetic votes.

DOC: It looks like everything in Sabah is collapsing under the Sabahans' feet. From jetties to housing walkways to hospitals to the state's economy. I guess PKR candidate Ansari Abdullah is providing us, West Malaysians, a glimpse into the poor state of affairs our brethren Sabahans have to deal with on a daily basis.

RR: For those who think this is bad omen, let me say that I feel sorry for you. This is because you fail to consider the level of poverty and marginalisation that the people have been living with everyday.

And it is fine for you to sit in front of your computer, on your comfy sofa, whilst making judgement upon the work of others who are trying to highlight this issue.

Focus: I pity the people in the village for the sorry state of public amenities. On the brighter side without any malice, I read the report with a gleeful smile. I mean, it is humorous for the same thing to happen twice.

My suggestion to Ansari is this: Don't take yourself seriously but do take the voters seriously. May you win the election.

Temenggong: This guy is a walking disaster. Please fit him with a life-vest. There is no need to vote for him. Vote SAPP.

Lexicon: Could these be due to sabotage from SAPP? No lah .

PAS get serious, BN Chinese gambit fizzles

Wira: BN made the mistake of sending Chua Soi Lek (CSL) to meet the Chinese in Galas. He won the MCA presidency on the basis of being the loser with the most number of votes in a three-way fight despite street preference for Ong Tee Keat. He is seen as a disgraceful porn star and an Umno stooge.

Yeap Cheng Liang: Not that CSL doesn't want to announce election goodies. But he cannot do it. Only Umno can announce it. MCA is just there to show that they are still around, for now. My prayer is for PAS to win this election because Umno doesn't need Chinese and Indian votes.

Anonymous: PAS should raise the question why CSL was not charge for unnatural sex (even after openly admitting he was the man in the video) while Anwar Ibrahim was charge for sodomy even though four doctors found no signs of penetration in Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan's anus.

Zaid's camp wants polls stopped over 'irregularities'

Jawana: I think Zaid Ibrahim's agent and aides have basis in putting forth their grievances. Election is expected to be a civilised mode in gaining power. PKR's claims that they are championing for a fair and clean election in Malaysia must first be demonstrated in the way they conduct their own party election.

Election committee secretary Radin Shamsulkamar Radin Shamsudin must let the whole world know how PKR conducts its election. This must be in writing so that there will be no last-minute change in procedures.

Mikey: The way such allegations is rubbished by the election committee out of hand so reminds me of BN. There is no smoke without fire and issues in three out of four places smells fishy.

At best, it indicates the lack of organisational discipline and management. They have a long time to plan this. It doesn't augur well for the party.

KSN: PKR lost a lot credibility during the nomination process and the election antics, sabotage if you like, wilful as they are, will see PKR disgraced and badly mauled in the public eye for all its talk about democratic party elections.

Chris: I always suspect and believe Zaid is not interested to win the post but to inflict maximum damage to PKR reputation. This guy is a Trojan horse planted by Daim Zainuddin and Umno.

Air Force threatens Tharmendran's lawyer

Ferdtan: N Surendran is one lawyer who is fearless in his fight against injustices for all his clients. Now he is taking on the powerful Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) and they are coming hard on him.

I am calling on the president of the Bar Council, Ragunath Kesavan, to step in to assist their fellow Bar member and determine whether RMAF has crossed the line with its 'unlawful' threat to charge him for abetting a deserter.

If RMAF is wrong, then the Bar Council should take aggressive actions; not the usual practise by issuing another statement through the press, but by bringing out its members to RMAF to loudly protest against them to show that the Bar Council is no easy meat.

If the Bar Council cannot protect its own kind, then how can they assist the simple rakyat like us?

P Dev Anand Pillai: If lawyers are going to be charged for aiding and abetting, then the armed forces must stop lawyers from entering their barracks to conduct court-martial hearings in the first place.

This is clearly a show of force, the might of the executive through its complete control of the armed forces. They are coming after Surendran because Tharmendran is going to spill the beans about who the actual culprits are.

Bozuka: Detainees are murdered in lock-up, witnesses and victims are abducted by PDRM and now lawyers are being threatened by RMAF. What next?
