Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said today voters in Galas and Batu Sapi were warming up to the BN, which augured well for BN victories in Thursday's by-elections in the two constituencies.  

However, he said he could not say for sure if voters in the two constituencies would give the BN big victories and that the coalition's election machineries in them needed to push harder in campaigning over the next four days.

“It is clear the electorate in the two constituencies want us (BN) to help them as they know only the BN can," he told reporters after attending a gathering of civil servants in Sandakan.

He said voters now were also aware that it was pointless to vote for the opposition because it could not deliver what they want.

Meanwhile, when asked for his comments about the defection of some PKR and Sabah Progressive Party leaders and members in Batu Sapi to Umno today, Muhyiddin said this showed joining opposition parties was futile.

“This PKR is the same as other parties that have collapsed before... they will not be getting anywhere. Even some of its founders have left the party because its leadership has no integrity while its policies also cannot be seen to be fair," he said, adding he was of the view more members would be deserting the party.
