Deputy Premier Muhyiddin Yassin today launched a pre-emptive strike against any attempts by PAS to use the recent RON 97 petrol price hike in its campaign in Galas.

"I want to ask, who is using RON 97 petrol here? All using RON 95 petrol right? You see, all using RON 95," said Muhyiddin at Sekolah Kebangsaan Tengku Faez in the PAS stronghold of Sungai Terah.

muhyiddin pc 200910 02 Muhyiddin ( right ) claimed that the government did not increase the price of RON 95 as it knows the majority of Rakyat is using the cheaper type of petrol.

As such, he said that the price hike of RON 97 petrol should not affect the winning chances in Galas because it doesn't affect most voters.

"We subsidise RON 95 more than RON 97, many people using RON 95 that's why we control its price," he said.

Muhyiddin added that its a lie to say government is not taking care of the Rakyat by allowing the price hike.

The sudden increase in the price of RON 97 has been labeled as mistimed by PAS who already said that may affect the by-election. However the Islamic party has yet to use the issue in its campaign.

In a press conference later, Muhyiddin said BN has answered many allegations from the opposition throughout the campaign and hopes the voters can make a wise choice on the polling day tomorrow.

He is confident the voters are responding well to BN. "They are ready to make changes, we will know tomorrow," he concluded.
