The candidate and supporters of the winning party, either BN or Pas, are prohibited from holding any victory procession after the announcement of the Galas state by-election results tomorrow.

Kelantan police chief Abdul Rahim Hanafi said the police also forbade party supporters from fixing large party flags to their vehicles as it was an offence under the Road Transport Act.

"Generally, the Galas by-election campaign has been peaceful...we only issued 57 permits for political talks," he told a press conference in Gua Musang today.

He also gave an assurance the polling process for the by-election would be a smooth affair as the police had deployed sufficient manpower to ensure public order and safety.

Abdul Rahim said the police acted on 10 reports on violation of the Election Act 1954.
