The death toll has doubled to four and two more people are feared to have drowned as the flood situation in Kedah and Perlis continued to worsen this evening, with almost 50,000 moved to relief centres.

According to Bernama , the situation in Kelantan has improved tremendously, with all the 475 evacuees having returned home by this afternoon and the sun shining brightly for most of the day.

Police in Kedah state said the body of 64-year-old German Erna Fisher, who went missing Wednesday, was recovered near her home.

Fisher was reportedly living in Kedah state with her son and his Malaysian wife.

The other fatality was a 13-year-old boy who drowned Tuesday.

The national news agency quoted Kedah police as saying that two sisters, aged 13 and eight, were also feared drowned after the motorcycle they were passengers on crashed into a canal.
