Former Penang chief minister Lim Chong Eu is still in a coma although in a stable condition.

Penanag Hospital Assistant PRO Natasha Mikyel Abdul Wahab said Lim's condition had not changed much from when he was warded last week in the intensive care unit.

Lim, 91, was admitted to the hospital on Oct 26 after he is believed to have suffered a stroke.

Dr Mahathir Mohamad and several cabinet ministers have been among his visitors.    

Lim was Penang's second chief minister and held the post for 21 years from May 1969 to October 1990.

He was MCA president before leaving the party, and was Gerakan president for nine years from 1971. Under his leadership, Gerakan joined Barisan Nasional in 1972.
