Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak continues to attend routine checkup at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital where he had been admitted for three days last week for superficial ulcers and mild gastritis, Health Minister Liow Tiong Lai said today.
"The prime minister's health is improving and he is responding well to treatment.
"However, he has to undergo several routine checkups," he told reporters after Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin had opened the Ampang Hospital.
Liow said Najib would return to work only after the medical specialists attending to him certified that the prime minister had recovered fully.
Najib, who is resting at home, had contracted chicken pox late last month, and had suffered from the ulcers and gastritis as a result.
