A factory owner and his manager were today sentenced to three days' jail and fined RM75,000 in default six months' jail for bribing an immigration officer involving an amount of RM15,000.

Factory owner Tan San Kek, 27, and the manager, Lim Thian Ho, 48, offered the bribe as an inducement not to take action against their workers' who committed offences under the Immigration Act.

Judge Azhaniz Teh Azman Teh meted out the sentence after the duo pleaded guilty to offering the bribe to Ishak Suip, an immigration officer from Putrajaya, inside a pick-up truck at the Bukit Dukung rest area in Hulu Langat between 4.30pm and 5pm on April 28.
