Najib Abdul Razak said today he will leave it to the Attorney- General's Chambers to decide on the case involving former Selangor menteri besar Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo who is facing a charge over the ownership of two land lots and a bungalow in Shah Alam.

NONE "I can't comment. This is a normal process. The MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) carries out investigation and submits a report to the Attorney-General's Chambers.

"If the attorney-general says there is a case, it is up to him to decide," the prime minister said when launching the Talent Corporation in Putrajaya today.

NONE Mohamed Khir was charged at the Shah Alam Sessions Court this morning with obtaining, for himself and for his wife Zahrah Kechik, 45, valuables for a consideration which he knows to be inadequate, namely two land lots and a house at No 8 & 10, Jalan Suasa 7/1 L, Shah Alam, from Ditamas Sdn Bhd through Ditamas director Shamsuddin Hayroni at the price of RM3.5 million when in fact the lots were bought by Ditamas on Dec 23, 2004 at the price of RM6.5 million.

The Sungai Panjang assemblyperson and Selangor opposition leader is charged under Section 165 of the Penal Code which carries a maximum two years' jail and a fine, or both, if convicted.

Shamsuddin was also charged with abetting Mohamad Khir in committing the offence.

They claimed trial and was freed on a bail of RM750,000 with one surety.
