Don't gamble with your future, Najib tells M'sians

Rolls-Royce: The PM said: "BN leadership had always strived to deliver on the coalition's promises in the interest of the people and country."

What did BN promise and deliver so far? They deliver us a crippled country and promised us a bankrupt nation; they deliver us a failed democracy and promise us a dictatorship; the deliver us a divided nation and promise us more divisions by race, region, class, and wealth; they deliver us half-baked schools and universities and promise us an uncompetitive nation; they deliver us colossal vested interests and promise us a crippled economy.

Ben Hor: I am sure many Malaysians are either already regretting that they voted BN or regretting that they did not even register to vote in the past elections. Is it me or did PM Najib Razak sound a little worried about losing government?

KSN: This is very good advice from Najib. So voters, take note not to vote for BN-Umno. Vote opposition. The country was taken in the wrong direction for 53 years, the sins are public knowledge and plenty, and that practice continues. Let us give the alternate a chance for one term and see what they can do.

If they are no better than Umno-BN and fail to deliver, we will look for another option which will emerge as demanded by time and the enhanced awareness of the electorate.

Boonpou: Najib, could you please tell me: what future the rakyat has with you and the rest of Umno pirates who have been plundering the country for more than 50 years? Please do not insult our intelligence. The growing informed rakyat can't wait for the ruling regime to fall.

Oh, by the way, to borrow a script from Martin Luther King, Jr - and I don't even have to pay millions to seek out a US-based PR company to do so - let us embark on the journey to the promise land.

Anonymous: Can Najib redeem back the RM52 billion of the people's shares in equity, mainly Malays' shares, before the next general elections? Can Najib put the police, judiciary, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and all the local authorities under Parliament?

Can Najib rebuild all the abandoned housing projects throughout the nation? Can Najib increase the minimum pay to RM1,000 a month for all local labourers? Can Najib bring down the price of the basic necessities and household items such as rice, sugar, oil and gas?

Can Najib sort out the nation's account and tell the public how much gambling taxes and public taxes make up the government's revenues? Can Najib allocate federal funds throughout the nation and not selectively channel them only to BN MPs?

Justice: To begin with, we do not want a tainted PM. We want justice for Altantuya Shaariibuu, Teoh Beng Hock, A Kugan, and many more who died in police custody.

Yes, you and your cabinet do care for the people, and you care for the people greatly - that's why petrol prices naik , sugar naik, electricity also is going to naik in just a matter of time. We rakyat suffer silently while you and your cabinet are happily siphoning the country's resources.

Victor Johan: When the soles of your shoes give way and the stitches are frayed, you can mend. But when the leather is torn badly and your foot is exposed, you just have to throw the pair of shoes away and get a new pair. You want to protect your feet, right.

Umno/BN is beyond repair. It's not of any more use. We need a new government to protect our interest, for now and the future.

Geronimo : We have already gambled with our future for the last 40 years by electing you and Umno to manage our lives, and we lost. Our children have been deprived of good education so much so that parents have to resort to providing home education. They could not even get scholarships, our religious lives have been encroached into, we are unable to obtain work from the government and have to fend for ourselves to earn a livelihood.

We have been constantly told that Malays are more superior than the non-Malays and if we don't like it, we can pack up our bags and leave. We can't even get employment in the civil service nor the GLCs (government-linked companies). Our grandparents have been called prostitutes and beggars; and despite all the racial bashings from the likes of you, we took it in our stride.

And yet, like our Malay brethren, we pay our taxes. To me, you are a poor bet.

Wira: I agree with the prime minister. We must not gamble with the future and let corruption and racism ruin this country. We must relegate Umno/BN to the parliamentary opposition for at least two terms for some real self-cleansing.

Malaysiasakit: Yes, PM Najib, I agree that we Malaysians should not gamble with our future by voting a party that cannot deliver its promises.

Does your government promote racial harmony and safeguard the rights of the people by not confronting them with brute force every time they rise to speak up? Does your government manage the economy prudently and will not be reckless on engaging external consultants and indulge in runaway defence spending ?

Will your anti-corruption agency combat graft without fear or favour and punish the politician who owns a RM24 million Balinese-theme resort home well before the general elections?

Deep inside each of us, we know. There is no need to remind us.

Disgusted: It's the same old story and "advice". Or can we say threats are issued to the rakyat by one prime minister after another for BN to hold on to power, which is taking the country down the path of disaster with unabated wastage, corruption, racism, religious extremism, breakdown of law and order, and abusing the institutions of government such as the police, judiciary, MACC and the Election Commission, etc.

Enough is enough. We definitely need a change of government. It's time to give Pakatan Rakyat a chance to put things right before we end up like the Philippines, if not Burma and Zimbabwe.

Abasir: After having naively, and repeatedly, gambled our future with BN with the net result of being a pathetic nobody when compared to Singapore, the rakyat is willing to take a chance with Pakatan. After all, can anyone do worse than BN?
