Mentri Besar Kelantan Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat said today that he will donate one-third of his savings to PAS as a mark of gratitude that corruption cases against him have been closed.

He told reporters that he had no intention of taking legal action against his accusers.

He was commenting on the statement by the operations evaluation panel of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission that the cases had been closed because the allegations against the PAS spiritual leader could not stand.

Hadenan Abdul Jalil said the commission found that the appointment of Nik Aziz's son-in-law Abdul Ariffahmi Abdul Rahman, who was chief operations officer, as chief executive officer of Kelantan Mentri Besar Incorporated was a change in title rather than a promotion.

In the first place, Hadenan said, the enactment that established the corporation gives the Mentri Besar full powers to appoint officers and staff.

As for the allegation that Nik Aziz had accepted RM65,000 from a company to perform the Haj (pilgrimage), the commission found it to be baseless.

Responding to reporters, Nik Aziz said: "The question of my son-in-law wanting to take legal action (against the accusers) is his business. I do not intend to do so myself. It is enough that they repent and regret their action."
