DAP has imposed a fine of RM500 on its Federal Territories secretary Lim Lip Eng for unruly conduct at the Selangor DAP congress on Nov 28.

NONE According to DAP disciplinary committee chairperson Tan Kok Wai, the light penalty was in view of Lim's immediate apology a day after the incident.

Tan also pointed out the committee also noted that Lim had replied to the show-cause letter issued on Nov 29 in just a day.

However, he said that the committee had also reprimanded Lim for the incident.

When contacted, Lim said  he has yet to be officially informed of the decision.

He has 14 days to settle  the fine, which will go to the party's coffers.

Ejected twice

During the Selangor DAP congress, elections for state office bearers were also taking place.

As ballots were being counted, Lim, who was on the floor, shouted "Teresa (Kok)! You won!".

The chairperson of the congress immediately ordered Lim's removal from the venue.

Later, when results were being announced, Lim somehow made it back to the venue.

When it was clear that the team he favoured had won, Lim then shouted "Yes!" loudly a few times, prompting his second ejection.

Following this, Lim's behaviour came under intense public scrutiny, particularly because he is also the Segambut MP.
