Karpal to Nazri: I may be 3rd class but you've no class

Patriot: There is no doubt that Karpal Singh is a first-class lawyer and Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz a no-class one.

But Karpal is also no better than a gun-slinger of the cowboy days in the Wild Wild West. Because of his great penchant of five-minute fame, he actually enjoyed to be suspended from Parliament. His son, Gobind, has also acquired that bad habit. Karpal must remember a dead hero cannot fight for his country.

As a first-class lawyer, he should know that the odds are stacked against the opposition in Parliament. Even the DAP speaker in Selangor also suspended Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo and gang. Karpal owes a duty to perform his duty as an MP and work within the system. Once suspended, he can shout and scream outside the Parliament without any effect.

My advice as a voter, use your brains rather than your emotions. Put aside, all the rhetoric and bravado. Many thanks for your service as an MP.

Ghkok: It is very simple. Anwar Ibrahim raised an important point in Parliament. He presented evidence to back up his point. The evidence is solid as far as I understood and not just rumours. He's just doing his duty as an MP. Other MPs, from either side, can dispute his evidence or attack his arguments. That's what Parliament is designed for - open debates.

Instead, the BN persecuted him and the other Pakatan Rakyat MPs. This is ridiculous. This is tyranny. This is oppression. This is the result of 53 years of one-party rule. Domination and arrogance. How can our country move forward like this?

The only long-term solution is to end one-party rule. From now on, voters must ensure that no one party dominates and monopolises power for lengthy periods of time, let alone half a century.

Geronimo: I am interested to know how the court is going to wriggle itself out of this one when in Perak, it was okay for the court to interfere but not so in this case.

Boy oh boy, have our judiciary painted itself into a corner. By the time Umno's rule come to an end, our book of legal precedents will be one that would be full of contradictions and future judges will have a difficult time deciding on which one to base on.

FairMind: Nazri said parliamentary proceedings cannot be challenged despite there being a precedence. It is because he knows that the Umno judges who are beholden to the powers-that-be will make sure that they will do his bidding.

Kgen: The constitution says all proceedings in the Dewan Rakyat are beyond the jurisdiction of the courts. Unless of course, it is Umno taking legal action and the court will jump at its bidding to say it is within its jurisdiction.

Anwar: Suspension a 'flagrant abuse of power'

Rolls-Royce: It is useless to continue to engage with a group of dung heads MPs and speakers. They are incapable of reasoned and rational debate and argument. They have no sense of justice. The most important thing is to disseminate the happenings in the Dewan to the rakyat. Just look at all mainstream TVs - how they spin and twist around and I believe many innocent and ignorant rakyat may get influenced.

There is no point also to continue writing sophisticated and intellectual articles in the blogs. The strategy is to translate whatever that are happening into simple concepts that ordinary folks can relate to.

When we say the speaker is not fair and never follow the rules, what do these mean to the ordinary people. Pakatan MPs have to tell them that the ‘wakil rakyat' that you the people elected are now prevented from articulating the concerns of the rakyat.

You have to argue that BN MPs have never fight for the rakyat, only Pakatan MPs fight for rakyat and that is why BN want to prevent Pakatan MPs from attending Parliament.

MPs' suspension: A sheer travesty of justice

Ksn: This episode is a disgrace all around. Umno-BN should not feel proud that they have achieved a victory against the opposition, with the active collusion of the honourable speaker. The government should not forget for a moment that the ousted members are elected representatives of the people and to treat them with such a below-the-belt manner, it will not be forgiven by the electorate.

AkuMelayu: The people should be told the truth and not to be hoodwinked by Pakatan. They should be told that the disturbance was planned to confuse the House and to gain public sympathy.

The presence of placards carrying various slogans into the Dewan Rakyat during the debate itself is proof of the plan. It clearly reflected on their manners of not respecting the supreme law-making body. Open your eyes people.

Please don't tell us to open our eyes when you yourself are so blinded to the corrupted and evil deeds of BN.
