Kelantan Federal Development Council chairman Mustapa Mohamed said a seminar will be held to show that the state is not neglected despite ruled by the opposition.     

"A seminar titled “Kelantan Tidak Di anak-tirikan” is to counter PAS accusations that Kelantan is neglected in development," he said after chairing the council biannual meeting in Kota Baharu today.    

Mustapa who is also International Trade and Industry Minister said for a start it would involve 70,000 government officers and staff in Kelantan.     

“It will then be held for the people to make them aware of federal government responsibility to the state.     

"We are also gathering data on actual federal allocation to the state channelled via the Federal Development Department," he said.    

Federal government projects being implemented include the National Food Terminal, Land and Mines director-general's office and the Second Sultan Yahya Petra Bridge.     

Mustapa said the state education department and state health department were allocated RM1.4bil annually.     

A laboratory would also be set up to study the role of the state government in development programmes to make Malaysia a progressive nation by 2020.
