A daughter of the Kuantan MCA Youth chief was found unharmed, two hours after she was believed to have been abducted in front of her house in Bukit Pelindung in Kuantan yesterday.
Pahang CID chief T Narenasagaran said the eight-year-old girl was snatched by two men in a Perodua Viva while playing with her 11-year-old brother at 5.45pm.
Narenasagaran said, however, there were bruises around her wrists and ankles due to being tied up.
The police are investigating the motive of the abduction, he told reporters here today.
He said the child's father, Chiew Yoke Theng, lodged a police report 45 minutes after the incident and the girl was found crying by passers-by 3km from her home at about 7.30pm.
Chiew said he learned about the abduction from his wife at about 5pm and was relieved when he received a call from a family from Bukit Setongkol on the discovery of his daughter.
"My daughter remembered my telephone number and she gave it to the family who then contacted me. My daughter is in good condition and was not harmed by the abductors," he said.
