Omar re-elected Cuepacs president
Omar Osman has been re-elected president of Cuepacs, the Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services.
He beat president of the Mardi General Staff Union Ramli Omar 816 votes to 154 in yesterday’s elections.

The results of the elections for the 2010-2013 term were announced on the last day today of the 25th triennial convention of Cuepacs.
Azih Muda and Zainal Ismail were elected deputy presidents, beating three other contestants.
Loke Yim Pheng of the National Union of the Teaching Profession defeated incumbent Ahmad Shah Mohd Zin and another candidate, Ku Azmui Ku Ibrahim, to become Cuepacs secretary-general.
Jaafar Mansor was chosen financial secretary.
Omar told reporters later that Cuepacs would push for compulsory and automatic union membership for all eligible civil servants.
