The High Court here today sentenced a couple to death after they were found guilty on two counts of trafficking and possession of 165.62 grammes of heroin and morphine two years ago.
The High Court here today sentenced a couple to death after they were found guilty on two counts of trafficking and possession of 165.62 grammes of heroin and morphine two years ago.
Judge Nurmala Salim ordered the sentence on Shahrizal Said, 33, and his wife, Zarimah Yusoff, 30, after finding that the defence had failed to raise reasonable doubts against the prosecution's case.
The couple, from Alor Setar, Kedah, were found in possession of the drugs at at an apartment at Desa Riang Batu Uban at 3.45pm on Feb 3, 2008.
Deputy public prosecutor G Jaya Prem prosecuted, while the couple were represented by lawyer G Ravi Shankar.
