Indonesian labourer to hang for drug trafficking
An Indonesian labourer was sentenced to death yesterday by a Malaysian High Court for trafficking in cannabis, the Bernama news agency said.
Ruslan Bendadeh, 28, was found with 436.20 grammes of cannabis at a restaurant in northern Penang state on Nov 8, 2000, Bernama said.

Judicial commissioner Su Geok Yiam, in passing sentence, said she could not impose a lighter sentence because hanging was mandatory under the country's tough drug laws.
She allowed an application for a stay of execution pending an appeal against the sentence. AFP
