Police are examining the content of a mobile phone which had belonged to a Selangor customs assistant director who was found dead on Wednesday believed to be due to a fall at the Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office in Jalan Cochrane.

Kuala Lumpur CID chief Ku Chin Wah said Ahmad Sarbani Mohamed's mobile phone was among items being examined by the police forensic team apart from closed-circuit television footage and other items recovered at the scene.

"We come across new leads everyday but we cannot reveal them so as not to jeopardise the investigation," he told reporters here.

Police had also recorded the statements of 16 individuals, he added.

On the timeframe for police to complete their investigation, Ku said: "You and all of us have to wait. Don't give us deadline."

He said, however, that the police might be able to solve the case in the near future.

Ahmad Sarbani, 56, was found dead on the badminton court on the first floor of the building where he was reported to have gone earlier to discuss about the MACC investigation into corruption cases involving the Customs Department.
