Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, who is making a working visit to several areas in Sarawak, ran into PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, who was campaigning for the PAS candidate at the Pusa market near Betong today.

The visit to Pusa was Najib's first programme today, and he was accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism, Rohani Karim, and the BN candidate for the Beting Maro state constituency Razaili Gapor to meet members of the public at the market.

When the two met at the market, Najib and Abdul Hadi were seen to shake hands and hug each other.

In the Sarawak state election on Saturday, the Beting Maro seat will see a straight fight between Razaili and the PAS candidate, Abang Ahmad Kerdee Abang Masagus.

In his speech at Pusa town, Najib said he had very good personal relations with Abdul Hadi but in terms of politics, he could not accept the stand of the PAS president.

"This is because PAS is cooperating with the DAP which is championing causes which are detrimental to Muslims.

"The PAS-DAP collaboration does not benefit the Muslims," he said.

On the other hand, he said, what was being championed by the BN was to unite the people of Malaysia through the 1Malaysia concept.

The prime minister later took a ride on a long boat to another part of Pusa, which is separated by Sungai Saribas.
