There is still hope for Gombak Setia state assemblyperson Hasan Ali’s political future, says Selangor PAS deputy commissioner Khalid Samad.

NONE Because of this, he added, Hasan should not hit the self-destruct button out of disappointment.

“We understand maybe he is disappointed and hurt (that he was not nominated for re-election) but he should not embark on a path that would destroy himself.

“We are not trying to slam him, we want to save him,” said Khalid (far right) at a press conference in Shah Alam this morning.

He added that the party recognised Hasan’s contributions as a senior member and there were grassroots members who were willing to nominate him elsewhere.

"Even in Selangor, there are a few areas who are willing to take him in, if not state assembly seats, then Parliament seats."

Doubts were raised over Hasan's position after Selangor PAS information chief Saari Sungib confirmed that he failed to obtain sufficient nominations to defend the Gombak Setia state seat.

Hasan has since launched attacks at Selangor PAS, accusing the state leadership of impeding his political advancement.

'Hasan should reflect over nomination'

PAS Commissioner Dr Abdul Rani Osman added he had contacted Hasan several times for a meeting but did not receive a reply.

"We hope that he will meet Selangor PAS instead of going to the media."

toll hike protest forum 271206 nasharuddin mat isa Hasan, added Abdul Rani who is also Meru state assemblyperson, should reflect on why he was not nominated rather than attacking the state leadership.

"If I am not nominated in Meru, I would have gone back there and asked, what did I do wrong?"

Khalid, who is also a PAS central committee member, noted that the PAS former deputy president Nasharudin Mat Isa ( right ) who lost in the party elections has also trained his guns inwards.

However, Khalid brushed aside claims by Nasharudin that the party has strayed.

"Nasharudin and Hassan has been with us all this years, why are they voicing out now? They not only agreed to what we did, but were parties to it," he said.
